Best Museum in Amsterdam? ~ Ripley's Believe it or Not!

The city of Amsterdam is known for its scenic canals, flexible drug laws and the Red Light District. But these aren't the the only elements that are attracting the millions of visitors each year. There are almost 100 museums within the city. There are museums for nearly everything from Tulips to handbags to marijuana, Amsterdam has it all! Museums can get very repetitive and can become very boring. That is not the case at "Ripley’s Believe it or Not".

Located at the the Dam Square, it is very central and easy to get to. The moment you step inside the door, you are amazed by all the weird and wacky objects along the walls, and by this point you haven’t even collected your ticket!

Section of the Berlin Wall

The museum takes you up the many floors of the building and into themed areas. These areas have interactive components along with many photo opportunities, with the world’s tallest man, or a part of the Berlin wall (pictured) for example. This unique experience is hilarious as it is impossible to go through the whole thing without laughing. Another great thing is that you are also learning about so many different cultures, artifacts and optical illusions while still having fun… Who knew?!

At the top floor there is a mini cinema with a video showing the life of Robert Ripley and how he became the iconic figure that we know today.

It takes approximately two hours to complete the experience but the time just flies. By the time you have reached the end you won't want to leave and you will crave to do the whole thing again!
